China in Three Weeks!

The trip of a lifetime: to visit China for three weeks, with a private tour guide, staying in six cities, plus a taking cruise! Moreover, to do so with my lovely wife and my two very special kids. And, to provide balance, traveling with about a dozen in-laws, too.

Friends have asked me to report on my trip, for a host of reasons, such as planning a trip of their own. And, I guess I'd like to share my fabulous time in China. I've chosen blogging as the format to present my report -- my first attempt at this form of electronic communication. Please feel invited to follow these travels, and post comments, too.

Leaving IAD on June 19, we fly for fourteen hours aboard a Boeing 777-200/300. Riki and Payton haven't flown for this long before, but they've traveled considerably throughout their young lives. The flight will challenge them, for sure, but I don't expect much turbulence. Hopefully, United Airlines' in-flight service will include a strong dose of entertaining movies.

We fly nonstop, arriving at Beijing Capital Airport on Saturday, June 20, at 2:20 PM. Our guide for the trip, Gloria, will greet us at the airport and help us get to the Holiday Inn Crown Plaza Hotel. Hopefully, I'll have access to the Internet soon after arriving, to update this blog. Until then, ...

Sounds like the trip of a lifetime - what a great experience for all of you. I've never followed a blog before, so it's new for me too.

    Have a great trip!

  2. Thanks, pal. Advice from a true professional. Riki and Payton will each bring an iTouch and a Nintendo DS Lite, plus a PSP to share. They will have playing cards and a book or two. Plus, they will have 5 cousins nearby! Am I missing anything?

  4. Chris, wish you safe flights and amazing adventures. Tell the pilot to watch out for the geese! I look forward to updates, pictures and fun anecdotes. I expect to hear about all the different and exotic foods that you taste. Watch out for the little kids with sticky hands. Have fun!

  6. Going international! The Langello's are always on the leading edge of adventure.

I believe that you said next year is a trip to which planet in Orion's Belt?

    Have a great wall adventure.
